Summary
Agatha was born on land, but she was raised in the sea. As a mermaid, she had one very important rule: do not interact with humans.
But Agatha has never been very good at following rules.
Naturally, she gets caught up, literally, by a fishing boat and meets probably the most beautiful human she's ever laid eyes on.
Rio had always had an interest in sea life. Her father was a fisherman, so it was only natural that she follow in his footsteps, listening to his stories of the mythological creatures that live below the surface.
Her favorite stories are those of the mermaids though she knows that they're made up...or are they?
When her fishing boat catches a mysterious (and beautiful) woman miles from shore, she starts to believe that there may be some truth to her father's stories.

“I’m not broken,” Agatha grumbled, not hating the analogy as much as she should. “Quit writing me poetry.”
“No, Agatha, you’re not broken. But we hurt you, we broke your heart, and I won’t pretend that we didn’t. Please give us a chance, give me a chance to make this right. Just one more time. And if you hate it, I promise to never ask you again. Just one more tour.”

Agatha shrugged nonchalantly even though her heart was pounding. “You’ve lived comfortably enough in that palace of yours. I’d like to bring you back to reality.”
Rio-Sofia scoffed.
Agatha flinched when the door jolted. Rio-Sofia had smacked her hand against the door by her head.
“Again, you don’t know what you’re talking about.”
