Summary
Himiko Toga was not supposed to live past the night of her birth, and yet 5 years later, she's still alive, doomed to a life of hiding and loneliness. That is, until she runs into Ochako and Tsu in the forest and founds a forbidden friendship between the three of them. Summary
More than a year later, she still didn’t know if seeing Himiko’s body one last time had been the right choice. On one hand, it should have helped the grieving process; seeing her, knowing she was gone. It meant there was no chance she was still somewhere out there. That final glimpse should have allowed her to move on without dwelling on what-ifs, at least that’s what she told herself.
Some nights, she still tried to convince herself the body wasn’t really Himiko’s, that it was fake, a clone created during the sad man’s death parade that somehow hadn’t turned to ashes. She still told herself that Himiko would be back one day.
