Summary
Of all the places, and all the times Corvo had heard his name whispered through the Void, this one caught his attention. “Corvo,” was spoken with such, breathless devotion he couldn't help but take a peak. A blink took him to the moment, for all the year and experience he had at being human, he never quite got use to the change in how he viewed things now. In one direction 30 seconds and this moment would turn into gasped breaths and boneless recovering, in a few minutes in the other and it would be the moment it began, the tentative, human, shame and grief of lusting for 'the dead' and lost. “Outsider,” he finally spoke at the moment roared to life with a sudden gasp and smaller, frailer body backing itself against the bare wall.

Summary
He's standing at the door of a bedroom, his heartbeat in his ears. Four thousand years in the company of Leviathans, thinking he doesn't want anything, couldn’t be in need of any human desires, emotions and feelings, that hope is for the weak and help is a form of currency.
Then, a mortal came and made the limp darkness of his ocean heart bleed out to make place for longing.
When Outsider needed it most, nobody was there to help him.
He won't let the fate think it could get away with the same cruel trick towards someone he loves.

Summary
"Perhaps you'll find another soul to torture,” Corvo teases, “Another tired middle-aged father who is so desperate for your fickle attention."
“There is no one else,” the Outsider replies suddenly, voice fierce. His brow pinches just barely. “There is no other soul like yours. When you’re gone, I’ll wait to find you again, when your soul is reincarnated in a thousand or so years.”
Corvo’s heart is thudding in his ears and the Mark burns hot on his skin, under his wrappings, like it's about to burst into flames.
And then, as though caught being too sentimental, the Outsider’s hands drop slowly from Corvo’s face. He looks away, voice quiet when he says, “Don't die, beloved. It would be so troublesome for me.”
Corvo Attano and the Outsider, in a dance not yet occurred, and so very, very human. Or, the transformation of a lifeless god to a god in human flesh and blood with a living, beating heart.
