But just then the prince’s eyes opened and Ilya was suddenly staring. Those beautiful warm brown eyes were looking back at him, framed by the freckles that were scattered across his face. Ilya hadn’t looked at his face before his eyes had opened, focusing only on the injury.
Ilya froze for a moment, task forgotten, as he gazed at those freckles. Ilya noticed the strength in the lines of the prince’s face as he endured the agony of his injury. Ilya suddenly found himself adding a numbing element to his magic to ease the prince’s pain. It was silly, using magic resources for comfort when he needed it to defeat the poison, but Ilya did it anyway.
The prince’s eyes closed as the numbing set in and his face relaxed. Ilya had never been so struck by a human face before.
OR
Prince Shane Hollander had accepted his life as heir to the throne, until meeting a certain warlock makes him want more than a loveless marriage to fulfill family obligations. The problem is that the world is not build to accommodate his happy ending, but maybe the world can be manipulated when you are the crown Prince.
