Summary
For the first heat they had shared, Sanji hadn’t even known Zoro’s name. It had hardly mattered. He’d never been around an alpha during his heat before, and during that first time, he’d completely lost himself to it. All he’d had to go off of were some of Zoro’s defining features. So many scars across the built lines of his body. And stupid, incongruous green hair that made Sanji want to call him something like mosshead or marimo because it was all he had and thinking of him as alpha made him feel like a powerless, knot-drunk omega.

I will always eat up a "FWB to lovers" trope. Here, Zoro is especially clumsy in his earnestness, while Sanji is, as usual, very difficult and avoidant. It makes the ending much sweeter and satisfying.

“Zoro…” Usopp spoke as if at a loss for words.
“Actually—”
Sanji’s body leaned forward before his mind could stop him, and he held his breath, feeling the door’s rough surface brush against his ear, listening.
“It’s killing me.” Zoro’s voice was raw with unspoken emotions.
“I know,” Usopp said. “But that’s not fair.”
“I know! I know it’s not fucking fair,” his voice cracked at the end, and all Sanji could do was take a shaky breath as Zoro continued. “And you’re right. The cook likes him… So, who the hell am I to stand in the way?”
