Kim Dokja was a hypocrite, a liar. He was the one who made Joonghyuk promise that being companions would mean standing on equal footing—and yet, he was the one who distanced himself from Yoo Joonghyuk as if they were two completely different beings.
He regarded himself as a simple worshiper, another devotee among hundreds, while Joonghyuk was the god he kneeled beneath; as if being a reader was all that he was.
As if Yoo Joonghyuk wouldn't abandon all his divinity and fall from grace just for the chance to feel Kim Dokja’s touch; as if he wouldn't betray all that godhood stood for and make this man his religion.
Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja, and how a three-year-long disappearance can change everything. (Or, a canon divergence AU where Yoo Joonghyuk actually gains the rights over Kim Dokja's life & death at the 46th scenario, successfully baby trapping and attic wifing him afterwards.)

Out of all the people that Kim Dokja met, Yoo Joonghyuk was the embodiment of a perfect student. He was studious, had the highest grades—something that’d make his parents proud or his cousins jealous—handsome, athletic, cold, but still kind. Yoo Joonghyuk was one of a kind.
So if you asked people about him, all they’d ever say is that he’s perfect—the man of your dreams.
Not so much for Kim Dokja, though.

For some reason, that made the expression on Yoo Joonghyuk's face turn darker.
A few months after beginning the divorce process with Yoo Joonghyuk, Kim Dokja is ready to let Han Sooyoung set him up on some blind dates. It doesn't exactly go as planned.
