Kieran felt like he was watching a confession or if he was a bystander, a mere witness to a couple expressing their love. Something dark inside him bloomed, its branches reaching out, permeating his bones and he felt a flash of anger searing through him but he forcibly tamped it down, until it trickled into merely annoyance; annoyance at the man who just casually hugged her like he had been doing this for his whole life, at her for being a bit too much friendly and at himself for letting his thoughts go amok.

"What's so funny?"
Crossing his arms behind his head, Seth cracked a grin. "Just thinking about your freakishly abnormal balls."
"What's wrong with my balls?" Horus asked, the pout so evident in his voice Seth didn't even have to open his eyes to see the face he was making.
Seth clicked his tongue. "They're too damn full is what they are," he huffed. "Don't act all innocent, you always fill me up so much it's like you're trying to knock me up."
Horus' hand stilled on Seth’s stomach, his breath hitching audibly in the ensuing silence.

Horus closed his eyes, thankful that half of his face was hidden by the headdress so that his uncle wouldn't be able to decipher his entire expression. “Why won’t you talk to me? Tell me what’s ailing your heart,” Horus told him at last, voice soft and steady.
It was meant to catch him off guard and drag him in, to make Seth open up and pour out the agony in order to cleanse his mind and soul of those rotten thoughts. He almost fell into the trap set by Horus’ pleading eyes, parting his quivering lips to let it all spill and confess. To let Horus know about the rift between them and about how much he just wanted to be loved.
Five years after the birth of his first child, Seth's heart longed for another. But with the lines of their relationship blurred and confronted with Horus' sudden avoidant behavior, Seth's biggest insecurities began to resurface.

"Hyung?" Ivan asks, head tilted. His eyes are deep and knowing.
Till presses down on the button in front of him without dropping Ivan's eyes.
"Wanna go get a drink?" Till asks.
The mic clicks off.
In the ensuing silence, Ivan's face does something that sends a trickle of fear down Till's spine. Till shivers. Ivan’s smile spreads crookedly across his features, like it's been cut into his face with shears.
"Yes," Ivan says, "I would like that very much."
