He pushes past the distraction of his body and focuses on Bellini once again, shaking his head like a dog to try and clear his mind. The words come through the phone warbled and muddied, slipping away from him as minnows in a stream. He needs, damn it all, he needs-
“Vincent,” he gasps, snatching at the name as it tumbles out of the speaker and cutting off Aldo’s rant about how unfortunate the timing of all this is. “Vincent, please, get me Vincent. I need Vincent, please.”
