The Day of Devotion is right around the corner. Alfonse fails once more to psych himself up and ask Kiran to be his beloved for the day. For years now, he has harbored feelings for the summoner. Despite knowing his feelings aren't returned (how can they, when Kiran has the entire Order of Heroes fawning over him?), despite knowing Kiran will someday leave Askr and return to a different world, Alfonse can't shake his ridiculous crush.
Perhaps with the right push, this year will be different.
