top tier zuko centric fics oh my god. Even calling them fics isn’t enough. This is my new favorite novel series.
last read part 19 chapter 25
summary for self reference: currently zuko and gaang r still separated but things are PROGRESSING!! the blue spirit saved aang but this time 1. The archers are in with the wings and 2. Zhao has evil burn spirits that he can shoot at people. SO. Zuko gets more seriously hurt this time by the spirits, one of the archers goes after aang to make sure they're okay, AND gets in contact with a wing healer (who is medic Koji) to help out with sick sokka n katara. Archer, aang, zuko, and Koji end up in the same spot after the escape. Koji has good cool spirits with him that help heal zuko. Then zuko is hurried away back to his ship and aang is told to go see a certain fortune teller to learn more about zuko and the wings. THEN the next day Zhao tries to catch zuko not being back yet but he got teleported there super fast (nice cool spirits) and it made Zhao look like an IDIOTTTT. God I can't wait for more...

“Are you scared they will think negatively of you?” Her voice was gentle, no judgement nor concern. Something in her tone made Sanji feel safe, he wanted to throw his arms around her and confess everything he had been feeling. “Do you really think they will judge you? After everything we’ve been through?”
Her words held so much truth it stung. She was right, of course she was right. The simple, deadpan way she laid it out for him made Sanji feel stupid. Like he was silly for every worrying about that. But it didn’t stop his fear, it didn’t make any of this any less confusing or scary.

Or, Sanji spirals as he contemplates the possibility that he is trans and Robin acts in a very sisterly/motherly way.

"You're not dead," Pomni said with a frown. "Not yet, at least. You're just — indisposed."
At that, Jax gave her a long look as his mouth narrowed out into a little line. Then he sighed quietly. It wasn't the way he used to sigh, with dramatic posturing that begged the attention from anyone even remotely listening. It was small. Tired. Reflexive. Then he sat down with his knees to his chest, glaring into the dark water. The only light here, a single streetlamp, glowed weakly.
"Denial is an ugly color on you. Clashes with your stupid hat."
"Jax — "
"I'm gone," he snapped. His voice echoed in the abyss. "Don't you get it? No one comes back from Abstraction. You're not saving me, you're not helping me grow. All you're doing is keeping my body from rotting." Jax's hands worked their way up to his head, squeezing as he growled, "You're talking to a ghost."
or, a post-canon fix-it fic, featuring the De-Abstraction of Jax. It's messy and it takes time, but it's never too late to try.

Summary
"We were so worried, we heard you—" Ragatha starts, and then looks up. She meets Jax's gaze dead-on, and goes silent. Tears brim in the corner of her eye. Her hand flies up to cover her mouth. He can't tell if the look on her face is relief or fear.
Gangle's staring at him like she's seen a ghost. Pomni slowly raises to her feet, brows furrowed. She winces as every movement jars her wavering form.
Cowered on the floor, panting, confused and disoriented, with everyone standing above him, taller than him… it reminds Jax of something deeply unpleasant. They're all staring at him. They're all seeing him.
Jax knows they're not going to like what they see.
His breath quickens until his head is spinning, and he feels like he's going to vomit. He forces himself upwards with a frustrated cry, swaying in place, and then turns and bolts towards his room as fast as he can.
"NO!" Pomni screams.
(or: pomni pulls jax back from the brink.)

The Heroes of Courage are spread across ages. Hundreds to thousands of years between them. It should come as no surprise that they are having some trouble communicating. But when they’re dropped in a world of alien technology and a language wholly unfamiliar, they really wish Hylia had thought ahead.
Or, the gang-meets-wild fic in which there is an appropriate amount of linguistic drift between Links, Hylia does not provide Google Translate, and Wild is a linguaphile among other things.
