Summary
Life as a slime wasn’t all too bad, all things considered. At least, that was Yugamu’s opinion on the matter. He rather liked the abilities he had and what he was capable of doing with them. Only problem? He was stuck in these ancient ruins by a clan of humans to guard their magical artifact. Even worse? He was apparently too good at being the guardian, as the ruins had gained infamy for being too dangerous.
Which meant he was so incredibly bored, with almost nothing to do.
That was until a short and pathetic looking adventurer hoping to make some easy money came wandering in. Needless to say, Yugamu found his cure for his boredom.

“What’s happening?” Mustang asked sharply, turning toward them with his clouded eyes still lingering a few feet over their heads. “Hawkeye? What’s Fullmetal doing? Is there something wrong with his automail?”
Ed flicked the lighter again, waited a little more patiently this time, and inhaled. Then he gave Hawkeye a nod, giving in to the inevitable. The only reason Mustang hadn’t figured it out already was probably because Ed didn’t do a lot of... this sort of thing. The comfort thing. Mustang liked people to play into his expectations.
“Edward came out to smoke opium,” Hawkeye said at last. “He says it helps with the pain from his automail.”

Now he will have to juggle playing catch up for five hundred years of lost time, trying to get back everything he had lost and having to babysit a bunch of brats on top of it all.
In the back of his mind, he wonders why he feels the strange nostalgia of having heard of these events before… but on top of everything else? He hasn’t the time to dwell on such thoughts.
