Normal then. Sunday let out a relieved breath. He put the thermometer back where it belonged. There was some chamomile tea available. He will make himself a cup, maybe it will help him with his insomnia.
“Everything alright?”
Sunday startled when he heard Aventurine’s voice. He almost dropped the cup he just took out of the cupboard. With both hands he grabbed around the cup, to not drop it again, holding it close to his chest as he turned towards Aventurine. There was a strange heat pooling in his gut as he looked at Aventurine. His heart started to beat just a tad faster. Probably from being startled.

The Express Crew's weekly game night starts off as nothing out of the ordinary. It is, much to Sunday's chagrin, another round of Marco Polo. He supposes that it's better than yet another round of Charades.
Regardless of the game's clear objective to evade him at all costs, Sunday finds it more than a little odd when not a single member of the crew responds to his calls, and he's very close to forfeiting entirely when a voice finally breaks the silence:"...Marco?"
"Polo."

Except that Sunday has stumbled upon a singular, horrible realization:
Aventurine is - and he's loath to admit such a thing, even to himself - perhaps a teensy bit attractive. Surely, nothing could go wrong.

Sunday wanted to party with Aventurine. That was …strange. The man was suspiciously euphoric, in a suspiciously good mood and wanted Aventurine to take him to an establishment the gambler frequented. That sudden onslaught of euphoria, the jitters in the wings that Sunday probably didn’t notice, those were signs that twisted Aventurine’s guts in anxiety. He agreed to go with Sunday, because he’d rather have an eye on a man who was only barely sane, than let him go out and find his own fun, possibly inviting more danger.
Once Sunday went back to his own desk in the open plan office, far away enough that his weird mind magic shouldn’t reach Aventurine anymore, Aventurine sent, lightning-quick, a direct message to Veritas, “How do I know someone’s gonna kill themselves today?”
