At the age of eighteen, a mark appears somewhere on your body that connects you to your soulmate. Some people never seek theirs out, some people would go to hell and back to find theirs. Some people wait to find theirs, and get around to it in their thirties or forties. You never paid much attention to it, even growing out your hair to make yours less noticeable.
You went through medical school, hated it, and struggling hard with the job market. You turn to your last resort-- the military. As you enter and get settled, your superior is awfully attractive. But he's surely got someone at home waiting for him, right? ...No, no he doesn't.

I wake up and I stare at the wall until he gets out of bed. I then move to making food or cleaning like my life depends on it, but I make an effort to close curtains or avoid windows whenever possible. I do not go outside alone, and I am always carrying a weapon of some sort.
I go to therapy twice a week, and psychiatry once a week.
