The Fourth of July shift was another shift of nightmares, Langdon was back, Dennis was moving out, Robby was leaving, the new attending starting out her day saying she would have to repeat her R2 year if she didn't get her charting under control, and then raincheck happened. Trinity was done, and going out to the bar with Mel helped her forget about it all, even if it was just for a few hours. July fifth started with a text from Yolanda wanting to talk, and that only lit a fire inside Trinity. Instead of answering, she went to the open hours at her local gymnastic gym to let off some steam. While trying a tricky dismount from the balance beam, something goes wrong and Trinity ends up in the Pitt as a patient, only to be tended to by Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi.

The world started to go black around the edges as this pathetic excuse for a man squeezed tighter and tighter, seething and practically foaming at the mouth as though he could snap her head clean off her neck with just his bare hands.
Hell, maybe he could. Maybe they were about to find out.
