Summary
Thomas wasn't used to planning for things to stay the same. All the people in Paradise kept predicting the weather, like they wouldn't have to leave in a moment's notice. The hunters set traps as though they wouldn't need to eat on the run. Gally told Thomas to stay with him at his cabin for the winter, as though they'd stick around long enough to experience it.
Maybe that was the weirdest part of all of it. That Gally and Thomas — nothing had happened yet to ruin what had begun. And Thomas really didn't know how to act like this was something permanent, but god, did he want it to be.

While trying to find a safe passage for the people of his village, Thomas stumbles across and passes out in an emerald glade. The next thing he knows, spirits are following him everywhere, he sees creatures he has no name for, and there are runes all over his skin.
He must have been cursed.
