Summary
"The other boy caressed him with his hands and layed on his side of the bed. He had hugged Mike, smiling, to which Mike only felt an immediate and delicious calm sensation, leading him to close his eyes again. He was then surprised by the feeling of two needles burried deep in his chest, tearing a horrible yell from him.
The strange boy stepped away, his gaze fixed in Mike, and crawled under the bed."or

Summary
“You’re enough,” he says, for the second time that night, and there’s no room for doubt anywhere in his voice.
Mike can only shake his head. Tears slip down his cheeks as his lips wobble helplessly. “I’m not.”
Will watches him for a moment before speaking again.
“Talk to me.” His voice is still breathy and weak, the words almost getting lost between shallow breaths. “I love talking to you.”
Mike lets out a laugh through his tears. “I love talking to you too,” he says, wiping uselessly at his face. “I love talking to you more than anyone else.”

Summary
"Hunter stared up in cold terror, blood still dripping down his chin, at the chunk of flesh Belos was holding up. His tongue. His uncle had cut out his tongue.
Belos turned it side to side, examining it. Then his sharp gaze landed on Hunter. 'Don't look at me that way, boy. This tongue was a privilege. A privilege you abused. Thus a privilege that has been revoked.'"Or, being the Golden Guard is much more difficult when you can't speak.

Summary
That was the shape of his love: quiet, unnoticed, and expendable.
But this? Mike’s grip told a different story. This was not expendable.
Will’s spent years believing he was the one who’d slip through the cracks — the one no one would notice until he was gone. But when he nearly falls apart, it’s Mike who holds on like letting go might end the world.
