"Why on Earth anyone would spend thousands of dollars on plane tickets, hotel rooms, and entry fees just to swim in a chlorine-filled pool next to the beach - fuck if Gideon knows. I guess the water jets are nice, if you like mold spores. As the one and only Pool Guy for three years running, Gideon Nav has never been asked to clean those fuckers. She's unsure if the plastic tops even pop off. She just dumps the cesspool with bleach, chlorine, and a bunch of other incomprehensible chemicals. Sits on standby to fish out the occasional bird or particularly large wasp. She's also the unofficial "lifeguard" during peak swimming hours: noon to five. Meaning: she's licensed to give CPR in an emergency, but her hourly wage remains the same. She could make a stink of it, but her manager's kind of a cunt.
One thing she has going for her? Those five hours a day, five days a week, she gets the greatest view Aotearoa has to offer: Harrowhark Nonagesimus working customer service. She's the manager in question. And she's very much a cunt."

Gideon works as a pool boy at a cheap-ass Hilton in her hometown and Harrow is her manager. The job is boring, but not without its perks.

Summary
The world has become blighted, a plague has desecrated the land leaving nothing but death in its wake. Harrowhark Nonagesmus is the Prioress of a small rural Priory that she is now the sole occupier of. While awaiting her own death, she has a vision that guides her to meet Gideon Nav, a disgraced Knight who too has somehow survived the Plague. Compelled by forces beyond their understanding, they embark on a pilgrimage across dead lands to reach a cathedrial in the far east- one that whispers to Harrow, that speaks of salvation for them both.
But the journey is not easy, starvation and disease are the least of their concerns when they begin to encounter the strange demonic entities that have begun to stalk the earth. Cursed children, living dead, fleshy creatures beyond either of their comprehension all stand in the way of them.

Medieval horror AU, Nun!Harrow and Knight!Gideon. Slow burn, Harrow thinks Gideon is a man for a while but this is not the case. Harrow has to deal with both internalised homophobia and religious guilt. Gideon is a badass knight with a huge fuck-off sword that protects Harrow, with many a dark history as to why she was disgraced as a Knight.

Summary
It was such a violent way of asking to be loved. Gideon, dead and abandoned, wants Harrow to eat her soul, wants to be kept and used and needed. Harrow denies her offering, and the death she wants so badly. All she wants is to bring her beloved cavalier back to her- and Harrow’s going to resurrect her whether Gideon wants it or not.
