Bruce has had a very long night... a very long week, actually. He is not in the mood to discuss his own recklessness, so when he comes home from patrol with a fresh wound and an injured ankle to find a frowning Clark Kent in the cave, he just... says so.

Another sigh, and Bruce turns. He doesn’t sit in the chair, but he does lean back on the desk, taking the weight off his ankle. It’s too late to hide it now and he knows that’s why Clark is frowning at him.“You promised –” Clark starts when Bruce finally settles and looks at him.
“Not now.” He refrains from saying please but it’s just barely.
