And then you met him in a bar. For one hour, just one hour, you finally felt alive. Life was good. You were heard. You were listened to. You existed as a real human being after decades of depravity. Most importantly, for one entire hour on a singular Friday night, you were valued. And then, just as he arrived, he was gone, and your world returned to the same tedious shades of grey. But it hurt more. You were lonelier, sadder, degraded by joy and company.
