It's quiet. Silent, almost.
Just as Valentino likes it.
He exhales deeply, the warm puff of air visible like vapour in the cold night air, the horizon dark and pitch black. Trees looming and leaning with each sway of the wind, the crisp bite of the lower temperature settling on his pale skin in a way that made him feel alert. Alive.
He scoffs to himself at the sheer irony of the word, shaking his head before inserting his key into the lock and turning it with a click, his senses being enveloped in a comfortable warmth. The scent of cedarwood and rich white chocolate fills his senses, but the undertone of something spicier and denser makes him pause in his tracks.
"Orion?"

Paz.
Alano felt his trembling body being carefully lowered to the floor, knees hitting the wood with a hefty thud, feeling too-thin and shaky arms looping around his torso as a familiar head of dyed blonde curls appeared in his peripheral vision, providing him with a sense of security and comfort he'd had no idea he'd lost.
"What happened, huh?" Paz's voice spoke in his ear, soft yet still raspy in that undeniably boisterous and rough way he always talked in, so undeniably Paz and so undeniably needed.
"I can't breathe." Is all he managed to choke out, huffing and puffing like he'd just ran a 13 mile sprint without stopping, face burning with mortification and the hot flooding of tears trickling down his cheek in salty rivulets of liquid misery and distress like he'd never felt before.
Not since that day at least.

Alano has a panic attack after catching a glimpse of his stab wound scar, Paz is there to pick up the pieces.

Paz blinked tiredly from his seat on the end of Alano's bed, fingers intertwined with the loose threads of the bandaging beneath his jeans, the white gauze poking through a rip in the denim like the gore shock of roadkill on the side of the highway.
He could feel every inch of skin on his body, every organ weighed heavy like rocks sitting in his stomach, each blink and swallow just that little bit too loud - even to his own ears.
"Paz!"

Sugawara really hadn’t meant to find it. It wasn’t like he had purposefully been snooping through Oikawa’s things because that’s something he would absolutely never do. He was just trying to be nice. Oikawa had just returned home from Argentina, and to say he was jet-lagged would be an understatement. He’d been up all night because his internal clock was all out of whack, and then he’d finally crashed when the sun started to rise.
His suitcases were still packed, and Suga knew how much Oikawa liked unpacking as soon as he got home. It made him feel more settled, like he was allowed to stay for a while. Suga found the usual things in his suitcase. He hung up his shirts and pants, and put away his toiletries. He found a few souvenirs that he was sure were for himself, and he found something else for himself, too.
Suga knew what was in the little black, velvet box.
Or, Suga finds something special and imagines a life that could be.
