As funny as it is to say that the knights spent all their off-screen time watching the chaos unfold on TV (or as logical to assume they were working on the Halberd), I’m sure many of us were often left with the same question: where were these elusive guards during all of that?
And that brings us to “Where Were the Meta-Knights?”, a series of (mostly) lighthearted one-shots featuring everyone’s favorite mysterious swordsmen through missing scenes and post-credit clips.
Surely something happens beyond their allotted five seconds of screen time, right?

Summary
The year is 3013. Planet Popstar finds itself attacked by mysterious invaders, who proceeded to take over the planet by mechanizing everything and anything in its way. The citizens of Dreamland, who were the first witnesses of the attack, were forced to flee lest they become taken and brainwashed by their opposition, while those who were able to fight back seemingly had disappeared after their failure...
But not all hope was lost - a mere traveler wakes up, realizing a lot of things sure had changed while he was asleep. Together with his childhood friend and an unlikely stranger, he sets off on a quest to figure out what had happened, stop the perpetrators, and - of course - save everyone else. But it'll definitely take more than just simple bravery to put an end to this strange war.
And so, they started a rebellion.
And absolutely thrashed all the invaders' plans in 3 months, more or less.
This is a retelling of Kirby: Planet Robobot's story mode, with character expansion and a bunch of strange creative liberties. OR: two children and their adopted mech suit get sent to war, f^cking up capitalism in the process. Just a normal Kirby story. Maybe.
