He feels something touching his forehead. Memories flash by of his mother caressing his face with a fond smile on her face. His chest clutches. She can hear him speak to him, her voice sweet and gentle, like it always is with him.
But no, this isn’t his mother.
The hand is too cold, too dry against his skin. It slides down his face softly, but Will doesn’t want it, even so it remains.
He wants to scream for everything to stop, but he can’t. He can’t do anything.
“We are going to do…” A deep, low voice begins to speak, sending shivers down Will's spine. It’s not a monster, it’s a human. But why, why would they do this to him? “... Such beautiful things together, William.”

For a long moment, it's quiet. Dustin's chest is heaving with the force of his words, and Will is… standing there, looking shell-shocked, with that barely disguised look of hurt that Dustin once swore he would never, ever inflict upon him.
"...so you think this is my fault?" When Will does speak, it's quiet, the words barely a whisper. Dustin's heart aches at the sound, but not enough to tamper the seeds of anger still sprouting in his chest.
"Think?" Dustin laughs mirthlessly. "Isn't it obvious? Somehow, for some reason, you're the root of everything we've been through. We've all thought it, we all know it, but nobody's been heartless enough to bring it up with you because they're all too busy coddling you instead. Tough luck, Byers, spending all this time being worried about me when you could've been taking some fucking responsibility and actually helping us put a stop to what you started."

NOVEMBER 6TH, 1986
In the three years since Will Byers went missing, the town of Hawkins has been under constant threat of the creatures from the Upside Down. But now, eight months after Vecna has ruptured a giant rift through the town of Hawkins, that threat is about to reemerge. Unaware of Vecna's true plans and trapped under a military quarantine, our heroes will not only be forced to face the greatest evil from the Upside Down, but also overcome impossible odds, in order to save the world, and each other, one last time.
Written in a SCREENPLAY format, this fic operates as a diverging conclusion for the final season of Stranger Things.

"Chance bit the inside of his lip. Truthfully, part of him believed Jason’s Hellfire theory was a desperate story fueled by the grief of losing Chrissy, but the more Chance watched Hawkins fall apart, literally, the more he felt his old logic snap into place. Maybe Jason had been right, the town had a wound and something crawled out of it, something that hid in plain sight. Chance didn’t believe in revenge, the Bible says justice belonged to God or the law. But, if there really was an evil in this town, wouldn’t it be just as evil to do nothing about it? To let it happen?"
OR
After losing two of his friends in the Hawkins “earthquake,” Chance joins a church grief group that believes Will Byers is the vessel for Satan. To prove them wrong, Chance agrees to befriend Will, but the closer he gets, the more the lines between faith, fear, obsession and love start to blur.
