Honestly, he expected the crash to hit him sooner. Once Robby was off the roof. Once they were out of the hospital. Once the alcohol hit his system. That was the whole point of meeting in the park, to weather the crash together. Co-regulation isn’t always an option, he could hear his therapist reminding him for the millionth time, but if it is, it can be a huge help. And wasn’t that what he was just saying to Robby? We survived as a species because we learned how to cooperate and communicate...

Summary
It’s not like Samira expected otherwise, but she can’t help but focus on how there’s only one bed.
“I requested a cot before we came up here,” Jack mentions offhandedly, almost as though he read her mind.
Jack can’t sleep on a cot because of her, but she’s not all that keen to sleep on one either. There’s only one solution to this problem, one that Samira isn’t quite sure she can handle. She throws caution to the wind and suggests it anyway.
“Why don’t we just share the bed?"
Or, Jack and Samira attend a conference together, and there's only one bed. It's a good job there are no unspoken feelings to worry about.
