She had already left one life behind once when she was kicked out from Arasaka. It would be easier this time. After two years, all that remained was a town-tale. She earned her place among Silverhand’s kin, and now had other things in mind.
Valerie was trying to convince herself it wasn’t that bad. Her past would always haunt her like a ghost, but what’s of it if there was no way of going back? Mild PTSD was all the severance pay legends got.
The thing is some ghosts are a little too material. And they remember her all too well, they have questions, offerings, their own goals and matters to achieve them. Valerie just no longer has any means to defend herself. -
