“What do you want, Nanami?” He'd asked idly during a lull in the conversation. Making small talk, that was it. Higuruma hadn’t intended to strike a chord, but then again what, if anything, did intention mean?
“I wanted time to think, so I took a scenic route. I wanted a late dinner. And a friend.” Nanami paused there, but not in hesitation. He was in too deeply to humor second thoughts. “And I wanted that friend to be you.” He wasn’t drunk enough to justify his sudden sentimentality, they both knew, but he was being offered that out anyway.
And yet he was uninterested in taking it. He licked his lips. “I came because I wanted to be with you tonight. Because I like you, Hiromi.”
Or: Nanami learned the hard way long ago to always go after what he wants, should he lose the opportunity. So that’s exactly what he does.

Summary
The reasons that Louis de Pointe du Lac refused to photograph people were numerous and valid. Photos were about capturing reality, encompassing a single moment from a limited perspective and illustrating it eternally. The candidness was the merit, not the dull neutrality of premeditation. His reasons were purely artistic, you see, all about stylistic integrity.
“Now,” Lestat murmured. “Let's get some of me on the bed.”
Louis clutched his camera to his chest and swallowed. Somehow, none of his reasons had accounted for this.
In which Louis is a photographer who resents taking pictures of people, and Lestat is a model who thinks that's a waste of talent.

Summary
Here they were, miles of bed around them and yet Zanka still splayed out directly on top of him. His arms were loosely coiled around Jabber’s middle like a baby viper, venomoid and defanged, too weak to constrict.
It was like he developed amnesia every time he came. It made him forget what a spiny urchin Jabber was. A creature not to be touched by sensitive, soft-shelled ones.
The part where they fuck is good. The part after is what ruins it. Eventually Jabber's gonna quit giving in.

“Hey shawty,” he leans his weight on her, a little, “you seen what ya boy doin’? You lettin' him get all sloppy on me? Naughty girl.”
Oh, fuck. Zanka hates that more than direct insults. Because, oh, because-
It implies a triangle. Another witness to their debauchery.
