“So let me get this straight, you’re telling me you want to double cross the most powerful and dangerous man in all of Ravka, if not the entire world?”
“Yes,” Nikolai said without hesitation.
“That is the dumbest plan I’ve ever heard, which is impressive considering I’ve known you for 15 years.”
“Oh please, I think I’ve come up with some crazier plans in the past, although this one may just be the riskiest to date but nothing we can’t handle.”
“Saints,” Mila groaned, her hands moving up to her temples to try to stop the headache she could feel forming. “It’s like you’re trying to lead me to an early grave.”
When she looked back at Nikolai she saw he had a wide grin on his face.
“So you’ll help me?” He asked hopefully.
Mila groaned again. “Yes I’ll help you, you psychotic idiot.”
Nikolai moved to stand in front of her. “With us working together, the Darkling won’t know what hit him.”
“I hope you’re right about this because if not, we’re going to be first in line guiding our crew to their deaths.”
