When Bumblebee had first suggested this whole endeavour, Starscream could admit to being skeptical. Honestly, it was all his own fault for complaining so much about how easy it was to misplace datapads and mice and stylus’ - after two months of it, Bumblebee had finally gotten fed up enough to snarkily ask if it wouldn’t just be easier to use them instead of wasting shanix on new things that would just go missing within the week.
Now, with Bumblebee splayed on his desk, utterly pliant for the task, he could certainly come around to the appeal.

Summary
Pain was once like an old friend for Starscream. Made it so easy to harm others weaker than him. So easy to draw pain that wasn’t his for once. And so, so easy to kill.
But Starscream doesn’t want to be that mech anymore.
It has taken energon, exhaust, tears, and death itself to not be that mech anymore.
Yet, here he stands before his conjunx endera, Bumblebee chained to their berth like a prettied sacrifice and Starscream with a diamond-tipped engraving knife in his tense hands.
Bumblebee struggles with some ignored insecurities after he and Starscream perform their Ritus and settle into their lives as newly bonded conjunx endura. Starscream in turn is nervous to confront his past history as a victim and perpetrator of violence. Peace and domestic bliss in a post-Unicron universe can be a process but they do their best to satisfy their desires, even the dark ones.

“Anyway, you got somewhere better to be?”
Starscream does not answer right away. He finds himself too distracted by the soft hues of orange and pink reflecting along Bumblebee’s armor from the dawn at the ocean’s horizon. The blue of his optics is a stark contrast to the warm colors and they brighten by fractions as he turns away from the stretch of gentle waves back to the seeker.
The sight alone would be enough to make a lesser mech’s vents hitch in awe.
Not Starscream though.
Definitely not.The gears of fate have always been strange to Starscream and getting cosmically linked to the little yellow Autobot is arguably the strangest. Bets are made and the future seems bright, but Starscream cannot help but feel like he’s waiting for another inevitable mess. Because for Starscream, good things never last, even if Bumblebee seems to be the strange exception to that rule.

There aren’t.” The grin that he gives is small, and the kiss is the first chaste one of the night. “I’ve never felt better.”
