    This argument had been going on for almost exactly fourteen days now. Ever since Shane and Ilya had decided to watch a movie on a rare night off. Ilya had ended up choosing Duck Butter, a movie that involves two young women making a pact to have sex every hour on the hour for an entire day. And, obviously, the idea of twenty-four uninterrupted hours of sex and quality time with his partner was a VERY fascinating concept for the curly blonde.
    Unfortunately, as much as Shane’s borderline impressive libido is also intrigued by the idea, his body has required AT LEAST eight hours of beauty sleep a night for as long as he can remember. As a result, Ilya’s request to participate in this “challenge” has been repeatedly vetoed.

    [Post TLG - Ilya and Shane both play for the Ottawa Centaurs]

    This time it's Ilya down on the ice.
    Shane's world shrinks down to his unconscious husband; nothing else matters.

    Shane must support Ilya through recovery and deal with the consequences of leaving the match without permission. They must both deal with some restrictions on sex as Ilya recovers, but they take every opportunity to find possible outlets as he improves.

    The extended recovery period impacts Ilya's mental health, and he has to face his own worth without hockey.

    Shane’s first year playing for Ottawa feels sort of like a dream, more often than not.

    Sure, there are hard parts and learning curves. But as the season comes to a close, and they actually win the fucking Stanley Cup, Shane can’t seem to recall a single fight or issue.

    All he sees is Ilya, ripping off his helmet and hauling him in for a kiss at center ice. It’s everything. It’s amazing.

    It’s afterward that everything falls apart.
