This is lovely and something different–classic relationship misunderstanding at the start, but it makes the healing process the actual story and you’re constantly rooting for the characters to get there. Currently on Chapter 6. I suppose if no more is written, it’s OK to end at this point, but there’s a central promise in the story still to be met. I hope the author gets there.

Chapter 11: I feel like the mystery in this story really pays great dividends in this chapter – the characterisation and tension, the unknowns, drive the story. Can’t remember the last time a simple conversation excited/ intrigued me so much. :)

Fourth Wing from Xaden Riorson's POV. Written after release of Fourth Wing, Iron Flame, AND Onyx Storm. (Spoilers!)
A retelling of Fourth Wing from Xaden Riorson’s point of view with all the knowledge we have to date (in other words, through Onyx Storm). Honestly, I think the best way to read my posts is by reading the concurring Chapter in Fourth Wing first. A lot of the dialogue is canon Fourth Wing, but I have added a view of Xaden concurring with Violet's timeline in the book, so we see him outside the bounds of what Violet does and hopefully (if I'm doing a good job) we will have insights into Xaden's actions in Fourth Wing.
Thank you to Queen Rebecca Yarros for inspiring me to want this version of the story for myself. All characters and true canon belong to her.

Believable!Xaden voice. I like how it offers a description of how Xaden and the others get to the turret on Conscription Day.
It’s making me have thoughts about the source text itself. Suddenly I understand better exactly why Emery asked if Xaden was ready for the next one; it’s because he’s already being distracted by Violet – lol.
It’s also suddenly made me think about the conversation Xaden and Violet later have down the line about hope. I’ve never really bothered to think much about it from his perspective; what exactly is his greatest hope? Does his hope seem as unachievable as hers? How realistic does he think that hope is?
Meh - that’s enough thinking for today.
