Grian was raised by the Watchers an organization that masquerades as noble benefactors while pulling strings from the shadows. To them, he is not a son, but a tool. And now, he’s their most important piece.
His mission is simple: marry King Scar Goodtimes, earn his trust, and help the Watchers tighten their grip on the kingdom. In return, Grian will finally be free.
But nothing about Scar is what Grian expected. Kind where he should be cruel. Gentle where he should take. Dangerous in ways Grian was never trained for.
Then Grian’s world shifts again.
Burdened with a secret he cannot afford to reveal not to the court, not to the Watchers, not even to his own husband, Grian is forced to navigate a fragile marriage built on lies while hiding a truth that could ruin everything.
Because if the Watchers find out, they won’t hesitate to take control of his life once more.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”
