“Staying with you hurts,” Paul says, hand still splayed on Julian’s chest. Their heartbeats don’t line up, especially not their breathing, not with Julian’s bad lung, and perhaps nothing ever had. Julian would cry, maybe, if he weren’t so fucking tired. He stills instead.
It’s like he’s never known air all his life. He can be bloodless and Paul can be weak.

It's a quiet Sunday morning, sun peeking through the curtains and warming Shane's half of the bed. Ilya's hand curls at the nape of his neck, fingers working through the knots in Shane’s hair.
