Feeling at home or in place wasn't something that came easy for Buck. Growing up, his parents rarely paid attention to him and his sister basically raised him.
Ever since he joined the 118, he finally felt what it was like to properly feel at home. To feel like he belonged somewhere. He had grown close to every member, and formed a familial bond with all of them.
What happens when he realizes the bond is stronger with one particular member of the team, but feels completely different than the rest of them?

Summary
“I have measured out my life with coffee spoons.”
Todd Anderson is a quiet, poetry-loving barista who would rather disappear into the background than write corny messages on paper cups. But when Neil Perry strolls into Starbucks with a radiant grin and orders the same drink every morning, something shifts.
What starts as an impulsive line of T.S. Eliot turns into a daily ritual of handwritten quotes and shy smiles exchanged over steamed milk and espresso shots. As the notes grow bolder and the days grow colder, Todd starts to wonder if the boy with the caramel macchiato might be reading between the lines.

Henley Hall leaves a single light burning onstage every night.
Officially, it's a safety measure. Unofficially, it's for the ghosts.
Todd Anderson doesn't believe in ghosts. He has a notebook full of incomplete ideas, uncertain futures, and summer jobs that pay minimum wage to worry about.
Then he meets Neil.
Or: Todd takes a summer job at a theatre and accidentally falls in love with a boy who should have been gone a long time ago.

Summary
Heaven and Earth collide. Two houses, both alike in dignity flashes through his mind for a half-second before being replaced with static; Neil makes a half-whine against his lips that’s nothing short of electric and, desperately, he thinks, palm to palm is holy palmer’s kiss — give me my sin again — you kiss by th’book —
And as they lean back in, he thinks, bright and laughing, come what sorrow can / it cannot countervail the exchange of joy.
And as their hands intertwine, as his fingers card through his hair — let love-devouring Death do what he dare —
