Of course, in classic John Carter fashion, he had a few more surprises planned. However, Lucy has changed since the stabbing, she isn’t the happy go lucky med student he remembers.

Alcohol warming her blood made her ask, “Am I grown up enough?”
The look he gave her burned its image permanently into her brain. It was… possessive? She wasn’t sure how exactly to describe it. His lips quirked up into a tiny smile that she almost missed. His eyes were like hot coils.

“And you’ve done that by shunning me.”
“No!” He says, a little too loudly for the little privacy offered by the curtain separating them from the rest of the ED. “No,” a little more calmly. “Because…I don’t know what I want. But I know what my responsibility is.”
“You don’t know what you want,” Victoria repeats, the words sounding like venom and nodding her head with a look that Robby senses is a nonverbal “fuck you.”
“No. I said that wrong. I know what’s allowed.”
“We’ve already crossed what’s allowed. What. Do. You. Want. From me, Robby?”
“I haven’t allowed myself to finish that thought, Victoria.”
She scoffs and rolls her eyes. “You’re such a fucking coward,” She spits at him before ripping the curtain back and marching away.

Look. In Victoria Javadi’s world, you don’t get what you want unless you take it. And she wants. Oh, she wants. Victoria could fill a book bigger than the Bible with what she wants. Summary
Six months after her 21st and Vic's still the same girl she's always been. Sure, she's proud of herself and everything she's achieved, but sometimes, she aches for something more. Being a genius isn't all that. Wherever she goes, she still has to prove that she belongs.
But Vic has no right to complain. Everyone at the Pitt is dealing with something. She isn't the only one. They could all use a break, frankly, but between their packed schedules and their empty wallets, they'll never get the chance.
Then Mel admits she doesn't have any plans for her twenty-seventh birthday, and suddenly, Vic knows exactly how they should celebrate.
...Is it still a GNO if Huckleberry comes along?
