Summary
The sun was utterly baking him. It had been for hours prior, but now, lying still and wounded, it felt like the few minutes he'd been here rivaled that span of time. He cursed himself, cursed his armor, cursed the sky and the lack of clouds and that goddamn disgusting celestial light. Of all places to die, why did it have to be somewhere unshaded? On some level, he marveled at the body's ability to spare enough sensation for heat-induced misery while bleeding out.
But, the sun was fucking baking him.

Summary
Kabukimono wakes on the beach to the sound of the waves. Dendrobiums curl and bloom around him on the sand, delicate crimson petals surrounding his head like spilled blood. The air is tinged with an electro current, thrumming like a pulse. Gulls caw overhead, darting in and out of the wispy clouds that drift in the blue, blue sky. The sun beats down upon him from above, warming his body as the cold water swirls around his legs.
“Kabukimono,” comes a gentle voice. “What are you doing out here?”
Scaramouche falls from the Shouki no Kami and is met by visions of a past life.

Summary
Scaramouche laid draped over what seemed to be a bloodied operation table. His face was turned to the side, his striking purple eyes meeting Columbina’s with no enthusiasm.
Blood was everywhere, smeared across the white surface of the table his arms were thrown over. He was on his stomach, but unmoving. Columbina greatly suspected that he wasn’t able to move at all.
Columbina stumbles in on an injured Scaramouche, and against better judgement, tries to help him.
