Summary
Seventeen years after pleading guilty, Spencer Reid has spent more of his adult life incarcerated than he ever did outside. He'd like to think he doesn't blame the people he once knew, then, for falling from his life like leaves from trees as the years wore on. He might have even been able to convince himself of that if he'd never seen any of them again. Now, nearing a parole hearing that might grant him reprieve, he is confronted with the loss of a mentor that shatters the silence between the himself and the BAU.

Summary
Derek wasn't sure what it was about Gideon that made him uncomfortable. He hadn't seen anything overtly inappropriate; there were no locked office doors or agents stumbling out of the bathroom adjusting the zipper on their cargo pants. But something about the way Reid followed the older man around, desperate for any crumb of attention or praise, felt far too familiar.

Summary
He can hear voices outside, and a sound that bears a striking resemblance to Morgan’s laughter. Forty four percent of incarcerated people have some kind of mental illness. It’s not surprising his mind is resorting to something that sounds comforting from before, he’s probably suffering some kind of break right now, in the after. Still, the memory of the sound curls itself under the throbbing of his traitorous heart trying to escape the confines of his ribcage. Perhaps there was something to be said about how the memory of Morgan’s laughter could still do this to him after all this time. Then again, this too, should be familiar. He’s always been powerless in the face of that thousand watt smile, more so when it was directed at him – toothy, and blinding.
or, Derek makes breakfast for Spencer and his mother. Somewhere in between sharing meals and showing up, they find their way back to each other.

Summary
Tobias is damaged goods, a man-child filled with baggage no one should have to carry, having broken under its weight. But he’s good at his core, Spencer can feel it. If he wasn’t influenced by the high of the drugs, or the terrifying breathtaking situation at hand, he might have valued his morals otherwise. But thus the circumstances were not in his favor. So naturally, when Tobias hand reached up his thigh and a hand stroked his tear-ridden cheek, still red from where Hankel had hit him, he made no objections.
