I recently watched The Road, after having read the book. Both ripped me to shreds and led me here. I've been toying in fic with giving the fic-version of Marc more time to live, more time with his family, that real life didn't give.
However, in this fic, time is limited.
This is literally a The Road AU, with Marc and Rolan struggling to survive post-apocalypse. If you've read the book, you know it is dark. This doesn't go as deep as that, though I will note a TW for mentions of cannibalism occurring and a mention of rape happening by way of violent gangs traveling (I do want to specify that neither of these things actually occur in this, it's merely mentioned that they are a possibility in the post-apocalyptic world.)
Similar to the book, they're hoping to reach the sea, this time by way of Cornwall, traveling from London on a trip that takes much longer with things as they are. Written as a series of short combined vignettes, this fic examines how they work to reach that goal, and what trials and tribulations are present along the way.
This fic ends ambiguously, however in interest of tagging well, said archive warning tag is a spoiler. -

You couldn't imagine what earth would be Like, really, and once you got down there you realize things may be just a little more Complicated than just the Welfare of a Prince.

Riff Raff and Magenta are back on Transsexual, and Rocky, Frank and Columbia are with them... in somewhat of a coma. On Transsexual, though, they can be saved.
Magenta is furious. They are in trouble because of Frank being hit with the gun and Riff and Magenta are lying back and forth to save their own skins, so nobody knows Riff committed the heinous deed. She is furious because he hit Columbia, sweet Columbia, a girl she had always liked.
Riff is confused. Lost. Not certain anymore what he wanted, but it certainly wasn't this.
Brad and Janet are back on earth, trying to live their lives like normal people. At some point, this will be entirely fucked up for them.
