Summary
Theo tells Parrot about a strange place called a Memory Box: a place that is everywhere and nowhere, showing itself only to those it finds worthy of its secrets. Anything and everything that has ever existed can leak into it, and Theo intends to use it to train, just as the heroes of the past had done. Parrot, beginning to go a little stir-crazy in the confines of his kingdom, agrees to come along.
But by the time Parrot realizes that seeing everything he had ever known can have a consequence, his ghosts are already standing before him.

(This takes place at the very start of Season 3, with this one in particular taking place after "100 Days as King of the Unstable SMP." This is the first fic in the Memory Box Collection, focused on all the UU protagonists and their sidekicks.)

"You... you..." Eggchan stammered through his fingers, trying to regain his last shred of composure, but his knees had begun to tremble. He slowly lowered his hand and swallowed hard. "Wifies? Are you really Wifies?"
The faint phantom didn't look aggressive at all. His face retained its gentle features from before, except that his skin was deathly pale and his dull eyes lacked their usual vitality.
Wifies tilted his head slightly, the scruffy brown tail behind his back wagging once in a slow motion, stirring the dust motes floating in the air.
"Yeah, I'm Wifies," he answered, his voice sounding distant and echoing. "But... it seems you're the only one who can see me? I followed Parrot all morning, and he couldn't hear me calling him at all."
Hearing Parrot's name, Eggchan shuddered. He recalled Parrot's thin appearance and his droopy, untrimmed wings in the schoolyard earlier.
"Parrot... didn't see you?"

“You’re not.” Lomedy hums. He looks Fragger over once, then nods. “Yeah, I think that’ll be good for splitting the bamboo.”

“Mapicc, Mapicc, May-may-may-picc!”
“Whaaaaaaat?” murmurs a slump of black-and-red hoodie in the corner, which would resolve, eventually, if pestered enough, into his good friend–maybe even best friend–Mapicc.
“I’m bored,” Spoke sighs.

“Something has been feeling really…wrong. Recently. I dunno.” Wemmbu's not sure why he says it, what possesses him to say it. “You seem like the kinda guy to have answers to,” he pauses, searching for the word, before settling lamely on, “stuff.” He waves a hand dismissively.
“Wrong?” Minute echoes. “Wrong how? What do you mean?”
He tenses, shifting uncomfortably under the vulnerability of it all. “I dunno— Look, whatever, forget I said anything about that. I’m not tryin’ to talk about my feelings with you, man. I’m not getting into the— the Wemmbu lore. We aren’t doing a fucking minecraft therapy session right now,” he says defensively, voice rising just a tad too loud, a pitch too high.
Minute does his best to fight off a small smile. “Okay, bro. Whatever. You’re the one who brought it up, jeez.” He holds his hands up, palms facing outwards, in mock surrender. “I was just trying to be a good friend.”
