They’re just roommates. Platonic, normal, very chill roommates. Sonic totally does not short-circuit when Shadow steps out of the bathroom in only a towel. And Shadow absolutely doesn’t think Sonic looks endearing when he takes accidental naps on the couch. That would be ridiculous.
They moved in together for convenience - not the unwanted feelings and definitely not for the consequences.
