Summary
Building off of Artsy Hobbitses' Humanformers AU.
Just after the Great War of the early 20th century, the Quintessons invaded Earth and enslaved the human race. They would hold sway for twenty-five years, give or take, during which they performed experiments on the world, its people, and harvested both for resources.
Still reeling from the aftermath of his stint in Quintesson captivity, Victor Prentiss finds himself torn between his past, his present, and an uncertain future. In addition, a question haunts him to the core; what is the difference between being useful and being used?
Story complete as of 11/11. Content warnings are per chapter, but general CWs are violence, trauma, death, drug use/addiction, and nonconsensual human experimentation.
