    After Xie Lian is tortured in his own temple, he wakes up in the care of a freshly-formed wrath ghost. "Wu Ming" follows him home and, with his carpentry experience, medical knowledge, street smarts, and fighting skills, makes himself indispensable to Xie Lian's family.

    To protect Xie Lian from Bai Wuxiang, Wu Ming swears that he'll do whatever he must to get stronger, all the while becoming one more person that Xie Lian couldn't bear to lose.

    Mo Ran is no less than shocked when Olympia-gold medalist Chu Wanning abruptly ends his figure skating career at age 29, right in front of him, just another slap to the face when Mo Ran has just delivered the worst performance of a lifetime and came in last at the Grand Prix. Afterwards, Mo Ran returns to his adoptive parents' rink, not really knowing whether to continue the sport himself - after all, his main goal was chasing Chu Wanning down so he could finally get him to acknowledge him after all this time. However, when he comes home from teaching some kids basic skating skills, he barges into their living room containing the usual people (Xue Zhengyong and Wang Chuqing) and the usual creatures (Xue Meng and Veggiebun) and... Chu Wanning, for some reason.
    His ankle in a cast, and on crutches.
    Offering to coach Mo Ran.

    my favorite part abt modern au’s are all the fun and unique ways authors come up w to make shi mei still be evil & insane lol. like yeah, he WOULD b stalking people on twitter……

    also it just makes so much sense 2 me to have modern xue meng b a zelda fan… thank u so much author this one minor detail was really exciting to me specifically (also in general this whole thing was just so beautifully written……. my heart aches <3)
