    Summary

Marinette stood in the center of her own room. The pink walls were adorned with sketches and photos, and other unfamiliar souvenirs of her life. Her eyes jumped curiously from a hand made purse to a bowler hat decorated with a feather to a cork board covered in pictures of her friends.

She loved her room. Which made sense, she supposed. She had theoretically been the one to decorate it, but she didn’t remember decorating it. And now, the room was like a cave filled with treasure.

Because each little piece of it held a secret - some part of herself that meant something to her, a clue to what her life had been like before…

Before she had woken up in the arms of a boy wearing a magic black catsuit. His heartbroken sobs had caused something in her chest to twist painfully. She hadn’t understood why then, but from that very first moment she knew she had wanted to make things better for him.

She had no idea how to do that now that she understood what she had lost.

    Sixteen years worth of memories.

The echoes of which were papered onto the walls and notebooks of her room just waiting to be rediscovered.

No one else seemed to share her excitement.

Def in top 10 zelda fanfics of all time favorites best well written pr best plot. mind reading trope

even tho it was only 10k, it felt very satisfying to read, it didn't feel too kulang. idk if it's because I've been busy with college or if I matured to be able to handle shorter stories or if it's because I haven't read in months hence feeling more satisfied with 10k fics... I remember the time I used to avoid 10k fics because I hated the feeling of not being satisfied and always wanting more from the story- but yeah I don't care This is still absolute poggerrs and amazing. lowkey glad I've matured enough fanfic wise to be able to properly enjoy and appreciate 10k fics, this is a masterpiece. wish I could delete my memory and reread it again. but I mean of course i kinda wish na meron pa more na tulad ng idk zelink kissing romance and more spotlight shenanigans about the mind reading thing but like same time it's so fun imagining about it before I sleep and I'm so sleepy so it's fine

a freaking masterpiece. dammit I should've started a Zelda collection for all the well written Zelda works I've read so I could reread all the masterpieces again

I had more thoughts but I forgot I'm so sleepy I really need to lock in again on college and my future... haha fuuuuckkk back to reality

    Bookmarker's Notes

nice good Gen general legend of Zelda link fic with spotlight on wild with twilight's pov, looking for that one missing hero in modern college cafe coffee shop au

also some lowkey subtle spotlight like twi/time fatherly relation and twi/wild protectiveness.

short bamf wild or twilight moment. indirect angst hurt/comfort for wild link

I guess my favorite scene is when wild link unknowingly picked up the master sword and unaware what it meant lol. also the scene in ch 34 where wild thought heroes can get grounded was nice

wish there's more of these kinds of Gen fics

    ch 15 - reveal/confirmation

    ---------

some psychology like a person's reaction to bad things in life/when life doesn't go their way (wild reacted positively to his problems and worked hard to overcome, Claude succumbed and chose the bad path and made wrong decisions).... and also, a person permanently being changed after their experiences

When Iila lost her memories, she was sent into a spiral of depression. She would have screaming fits and nightmares that wouldn't end. There were moments where she'd hold something like a childhood toy and just stare at it like it held all the answers to the universe, getting angrier by the second when nothing familiar came to her. It took the efforts of both Twilight and Bo to finally convince her to go therapy. Iila was much better now, though she was not the same person Twilight knew from childhood. She was quieter, had less energy, and she took little pleasure in the things she once enjoyed. Twilight hated there was nothing he could do for her but wait.

    ××××××××××××

Twilight drank. Water dribbled down his bloody chin, wetting his collar. He didn't stop till the bottle was a third empty. "Thank... you," he said once he was done.

Charles grunted and placed the bottle back down. "You don't need to be polite. I know exactly what you must think of me."

"And what... do I... think... of you?"

"Don't patronize me," Charles hissed at him. "What a failure. What an idiot. The man couldn't become a Hero so he becomes the villain, how original."

    "I wasn't... thinking... that."

"Please. It's not like I wanted this to fucking happen. I had plans, you know. But once I came home with a burnt hand and a police warrant on my head, I had no where else to go. The Yiga were the only ones who understood what happened to me, what bullshit it is that I, a grown adult, was turned down but you allowed a fourteen year old kid to join."

"Are you kidding me?" Wild said. "You got rejected, so you decide your next step was to join the mafia?"

"You shut the hell up before I make you shut up."

    "You killed that cab driver!"

Charles flinched. He took a step back, and he stared down at the floor, unable to deny it.

"Did you even call an ambulance before you hauled us away?" Wild demanded.

"You stand there, moaning and whining about how unfair the Heroes were to you-"

    "Shut up."

"-but let's face it, if this is how you react when life doesn't go your way-"

    "Shut. Up."

"-it's no damn wonder the sword deemed you unworthy!"

    "SHUT UP!"

Charles slammed his heavily scarred fist across Wild's face, knocking him and the chair to the floor.

"Stop!" Twilight protested. He jerked forward, and his body was quick to remind he still had several broken bones. He gasped and curled in on himself, trembling.

On the floor, Wild spat out blood. He groaned. "Beating up a teenager. Great."

"If you don't stop talking I swear I'll-"
