It occurred to Jaskier, as he forced his own feet to move, one ahead of the other, that Geralt hadn’t once shifted from where he stood on the mountain, arms ridged by his side, staring out into the valley, ass clenched like there was no tomorrow.
He really had just let Jaskier leave.
Jaskier clenched his jaw. Guess this one is for real then.
When he arrived back at camp he gathered his things and gave Roach a gentle pat.
He’d told Geralt “see you around,” but he didn’t think it would happen.
No, actually, he decided. He was planning on it.jaskier and geralt lose each other. it takes a long time to be found again.

Summary
Let’s go camping! Jaskier had said. It’ll be fun! he’d said. Geralt stifles a snort. It has been fun, right up until now.
Now, there is something trailing a slick talon down the seams of their reality, tracing, teasing, yearning to get out.
Geralt had been one of those creatures. It understands the feeling. It knows the taste of freedom, of fresh air on a tongue, in a nose that before has only known filth. Recognizes the texture of bone and sinew giving way under its teeth. Remembers the pleasure that stabs through the endless pain and hunger they’ve always felt.
It is not that creature anymore, not really. Its claws are not fully sheathed, nor its teeth any less sharp. But it is not the same.
The time is 3:37 a.m. and the pressure of the talon is back.geralt and jaskier go camping. they are not alone.

Summary
Geralt falls first.
He doesn’t know how, but he does. It’s undeniable in the way his chest aches when Jaskier laughs, the way his throat constricts when Jaskier touches him, the way his dreams show him what he tries so desperately to ignore.
He’s never been in love before. He doesn’t know what it’s like. It hurts more than he thought it would, but he finds it’s the kind of pain he’s learned how to savor.
Geralt falls first.
Although, to say he falls first implies that Jaskier would fall for him back. Which, of course, is a mere fantasy with no holding in the real world. This may be Geralt’s first time in love, but he’s not stupid. He’s very realistic about his chances and where he and the bard stand. No matter how fast his sluggish heart tries to beat, he always shoves it down, always keeps it hidden.
So Geralt falls. He falls before he’s even realized just how much his companion means to him. He falls with no idea how to stop it, how to continue going about his life without this weight, this tether, wrapped around the lump of tissue in his chest, the rope sharp and suffocating.
Geralt falls, and he makes the sensation of free-falling his home. -

Summary
Steve Rogers has never been a particularly religious man.
He’s been to church, heard the stories, and lived the miracles, but the idea of a giant man living in the sky and choosing consequences for every action on Earth, or even just the concept of The Powers That Be has never done much for him. He knows too much, has heard too much, has seen too many horrors in his life to truly believe in God.
So he doesn’t think much of it when the bridge collapses underneath him, sending him plummeting to the bottom of the ravine, the screams of his teammates chasing him a thousand feet down.steve's bad at staying alive. luckily, he's got someone watching over him.

Ilya is not going to steal Shane Hollander's dog. That would be illegal. And wrong. And someone would probably find out and make Ilya give him back.
So. Not stealing.
But there is nothing wrong with giving Chernysh all the pats and treats that he deserves, is there?
Nothing wrong with encouraging Chernysh to spend more and more time at Ilya's house until he doesn't even remember who Hollander is.
Because Hollander is stupid and boring and does not deserve a dog as good as Chernysh. No, he doesn't, does he? Because Chernysh is the best boy in the whole world, yes he is.

Summary
Nobody moves for a moment as Shane stares the woman down, and he’s seconds away from sawing the damn thing off himself, when the woman nods to the men surrounding the hybrid. And then there’s a flurry of movement, a clicking sound and then the men stand back to reveal Ilya in his bare faced glory, unobstructed by the muzzle.
Shane takes him in, inhaling softly at the sharp cheekbones, the moles dusted over his face, the pillowy lips that are set in a firm, displeased line. Shane wonders how big his fangs are. If he was a fighter, they must have been sharpened regularly.
Shane doesn’t want to think about the damage this wall of a hybrid had inflicted on others, the damage he could inflict on Shane. The hybrid stares at him, expression hard to determine but the intensity of it has Shane holding back a shiver. He’s staring at Shane like he can see every thought inside of him, calculating. As if they were on opposing sides of a ring, ready for the bell to chime and for Ilya to go in for the kill.
Shane gets roped into fostering a troublesome hybrid with a bad track record. Except what begins as a cordial arrangement turns into something much more complicated.

For a moment, nothing happens. Then, about thirty seconds later, Ilya blinks once, then again, his expression tightening as confusion slowly takes over, trying to make sense of something that’s supposed to be impossible. Shane immediately knows that he’s freaking out.
You’re freaking out right now, aren’t you? Please don’t freak out. Because if you freak out, then I’m going to freak out.
"What the fuck?" Ilya yells, as he jerks back like he’s been burned, his hand ripping away from Shane’s ankle. His irises dart left to right crazily, locked in on Shane’s face as he searches for something. Shane stays silent. "What the fuck was that?"
OR: Shane and Ilya develop telepathy while being in a situationship. It goes as well as you’d expect.
