“Eduardo,” Jonathan murmured. “I’m not Matthew Ellis.”
No, because Matthew Ellis would let him. He would let Teddy feed him anything, ply him with drinks and drugs, manhandle him, kiss him, and fuck him. He would’ve let Teddy do anything to him and still want more.
“I’m sorry,” Jonathan continued. Their faces stayed close together and Jonathan’s lips barely moved as he spoke. “For misleading you.”
“It’s fine. It’s your job, isn’t it?”
Jonathan nodded, he smiled sadly and ran his hand down Teddy’s face as if to soften his rejection. “I’m still sorry.”

Jonathan couldn’t stop thinking of his and Teddy’s dance long past when it was appropriate. He should call it his, Teddy’s and Roxy’s dance but she was only on the periphery. His mind returned to Teddy over and over again. The weight of his hands on Jonathan’s waist. He’d never been held like that in his life, he’d never been gazed at like that. He’d never been so totally blindsided by crushing desire.
He told himself it was simply him playing the part. But Matthew Ellis was as good as dead and Jonathan suffered a terrible problem. He couldn’t stop thinking about Teddy, he couldn’t stop the endless yearning to touch him.

Mobius. Mobius was next to him.
Loki’s about to ask why he’d ask such a thing—out loud this time—only to realize he was leaning against a wall, and not in a gracious or casual way.
Loki looks around, situating himself, knowing exactly where he was: one of the interminable number of hallways in the labyrinth that is the TVA. And when he was: right after cleaning himself up in a communal Temporal Core shower and putting on a fresh pair of clothes, following the time when they first ‘fixed’ his time slipping.
Mobius watches him with concern, probably fearing Loki wasn’t back to normal after all.
“Where do you sleep?” Loki asks.
“What?”
“Sleep. Rest. Where do you get it from?” O.B. had mentioned getting no sleep once, so surely everyone else in the TVA did get sleep? Like normal people do? He realized that after all his time here, he didn’t really know; he’d napped here and there at random corners of the premises, but never in an actual, proper bed. There’d been no time for that.
“Well—I mean, I have an assigned room?”
“Perfect. Take me to it.”
