Summary
Follow up to Don't Bury It.
Set after S9's "A Desperate Man.
Follows along the mothership timeline but some parts are not canon, the case mentioned at the beginning of the story did not happen and no Samantha Ryan (not a fan of her head games).
Ziva gets to hold up her end of their bargain after Gibbs is almost killed while on a case. He comes to her broken and she tries to find a way to repay her debt to him.
Still a deep dive into her emotional struggles but it also shows Gibbs has more insights to give when it comes to life and love. Too bad he can't take his own advise.
NSFW for the explicit sex.
As in Don't Bury it, there is plenty between the lines, if that is not your thing. The sex is not as integral a part as it was for Ziva's problem but as you know, Gibbs tends to use sex as an escape and that is true here until things get a little messy.
Not a common pairing but as we see in season's 8 & 9 Ziva is basically alone (Boo! Ray) and I find it intriguing how she turns to Gibbs instead of Tony, in some of her hardest times throughout the run of the show, like when the Ray situation blows up.Series
