Summary
When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.
Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

Albus felt a warmth spread over his chest at Grindelwald’s smile. He laughed a little, looking down. “You might’ve got a kiss at the door.”
“I might still.”
Glancing up quickly, Albus caught the brief cock of Grindelwald’s eyebrows. Albus’ neck was hot. Laughing again. It couldn’t be so, could it? Could he really be so wicked as this?

“Did you know—?”
“—That there are three types of twilight?” Gellert interrupted, chewing on the end of his quill with a mischievous smile. “Yes, you might have mentioned it before.”
“Well, what’s really interesting—” Albus barrelled along anyway, “—is that now that it’s midsummer it’s never fully nighttime. Only astronomical twilight.” He beamed. “Isn’t that fascinating?”
The pause suggested it wasn’t. “We shall have to test this hypothesis of yours, you know.”
Albus and Gellert stay up ’til solar midnight to prove Albus’ assertion that it is never night in summertime, only twilight.
Oh, and there’s only one bed.

Gellert gazed at him, one eyebrow cocked, from his desk where he was busy inking down the next chapter.
Albus smiled and tossed the manuscript back on the table. "It's the rest I don't agree with. I simply cannot get behind that American rule."
Gellert laughed loudly. "You wish to marry a Muggle, Albus? There is something you're not telling me, yes?"
Albus tipped his head sideways, growing weary of his friend always missing the point. "Oh, I don't know. I feel some sympathy with those who are not allowed to love freely." Gellert's gaze became fixed on the floor before his eyes roamed up to take in Albus' face. Albus placed his hands on his stomach and sighed gently. "I can only imagine what it's like not having the freedom to walk hand in hand with my love, or marry them, or kiss them in the street."
There was a long pause. Then, seriously, "What are you talking about, Albus?"
"I think you know."
