Distantly, the voice calling out to him mixed with a clock churn while his body felt as though he was falling. It took him a second to recollect himself and for his instincts to jump in. He was lying on the ground, head still in the bush. His arm was freed, and so he turned around and ran back home, the growl following closely behind him.
It's 1983, and Mike Wheeler finds himself lost in a dark copy of his hometown.
