Summary
On days when they’re not too busy, Sokka will drag Zuko away to spar. They go to a courtyard that’s far away from everything else, they take off their bindings under their shirts, and they practice with their swords for a while. Sokka’s good, but Zuko’s better, and he almost always wins, but there are times when Sokka manages to sit astride Zuko’s chest, almost straddling his hip bones, and he’s sure that Zuko could push him off if he wanted to, but he always just freezes instead. And so Sokka cackles and grins and holds the tip of his sword a hair's breadth away from Zuko’s throat and waits for him to yield.
Some days, though, when Zuko spends the daylight hours training Aang and sparring with Toph, while Sokka goes hunting or fishing, they don’t see each other until dinner time. On those days, Sokka will make some hollow excuse and walk with Zuko to his room, and they’ll sit back to back and drink tea until one of them either starts to fall asleep or until one of the others comes knocking.

“I need your help with something,” Sokka murmured, looking out towards the horizon.
“With what?” Zuko asked. Sokka could see Zuko turning towards him in his peripheral, but he didn’t look away from the ocean.
“I need you to teach me how to firebend.”
Zuko sucked in a breath. “Sokka- I can’t- I can’t teach a nonbender how to bend, that’s just not how it works. I’m sorry.”
Sokka huffed. “I’m not a nonbender."

“You know I’m a little bit in love with you, right?” Sokka says after a while, muffled into Zuko’s hair. The other boy makes a little noise of surprise and stiffens up for a moment, but then he melts back into Sokka, as if he’s trying to eliminate every bit of space between them.
“Really?” Zuko whispers.
“Really,” Sokka says, raking a hand through his hair.
“Oh,” Zuko says. “Well, that’s good, because I’m a little bit in love with you too.”

Summary
“Hey!” Sokka yelps, breaking away from Aang so that he can untangle the dragon from his hair. “Your son is trying to give me a haircut,” he says to Zuko, smirking when Zuko can’t respond with his usual 'he’s your son too, Sokka'.
“Give him here,” Zuko mumbles instead, holding out his hand. Sokka passes Druk off easily, raising an eyebrow when he realises that their friends are staring at them in awe. (Except for Toph, of course, who looks supremely uninterested in the whole ordeal.)
“He likes you?” Aang asks incredulously, his eyes just about popping out of his head. “That’s so unfair! I helped the Sun Warriors give him to Zuko, and he doesn’t like me!”
“It’s just ‘cause I’m here more than you are,” Sokka says, walking towards Toph and obligingly accepting his shoulder punch. “Maybe you shouldn’t spend so much time off saving the world if you want Druk to like you better.”

Or, during a visit to the Fire Nation, Aang realises that Druk likes Sokka more than him. He sets out to remedy this, and maybe-possibly-accidentally uncovers a few secrets along the way (but not without Toph's help, of course).

Summary
Katara is halfway through parting out bits of hair for her hair-loopies when she hears voices coming from the other side of the (unfortunately thin) wall.
“Sleep well?” Zuko’s voice murmurs, rough with sleep.
Someone hums in response, and Katara’s about to pound on the wall and make fun of Zuko for having someone in bed with him, when the person speaks up.
“Pretty good, yeah,” Sokka says. Katara’s fist pauses halfway through it’s trek to the wall, held up in mid air.

Summary
To be clear, Ilya is grateful the rookies aren’t growing up the way he did in the NHL. Ilya took the hazing to the chin – humiliation rituals, beat downs, grueling practices to prove he could “hang” with the big guns on the team.
That being said, there’s still some part of Ilya that balks at the request by the gaggle of rookies to watch The Iron Giant, a veritable children’s movie at the team’s latest movie night.
OR: Five times Shane and Ilya were the support system for the Centaur rookies they dreamed of having when they were younger.

The reporter had taken his words in the complete opposite way than Ilya had meant them, but he supposed he was too committed to stop now. “Of course not.”
“Of course.” The reporter parroted, laughing nervously.
“Obviously, we are already in a relationship.”

In Ilya’s rookie season, he impulsively jokes about dating Shane to an invasive reporter. Then, he just… keeps doing it, since publicly announcing it enough times that everyone writes it off as a joke is a great way to hide a clandestine relationship.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov is having a very good night. He’s scored a goal, his edges are perfect, and his chirping of the Vegas Golden Knights’ roster is reaching art-form levels of arrogance. But hockey is a game of physics and ruts in the ice, and it only takes one meaningless check in the third period for Ilya’s season to shatter in a single, sickening crack.
Three hundred miles away, Shane Hollander is forced to watch the replay in a silent equipment room.
When Shane finally breaks and calls Boston forward Cliff Marlow, he expects to be met with confusion or hostility. Instead, he finds that the Boston Bears have been keeping a secret for years— and Shane starts to realize the differences between Montreal and Boston span further than he was ever ready for.
What follows is meddling teammates who insist on doing laundry, PT that involves more sitting and standing reps than really feels necessary, and a boyfriend who is one research paper away from a medical degree. Plus, so much kale.
