He was sick of it, all this waiting, and that was surely what he was doing. Waiting until he finally worked up the nerve to just do it. It wasn’t like he had any other plans for what to do in Paris, and it was as nice of a place to go as any. Not that he’d actually seen much of the sights since he arrived, but he’d been here before, so it wasn’t like he was missing anything particularly new.
Still, he felt like he’d hit a standstill. No matter how hard he tried to drink himself into a stupor, to give himself the liquid courage that killing himself would require, he still failed night after night. It was yet another reminder of his own selfishness, that he valued his own life enough to risk endangering the lives of others by continuing his poisonous existence. It was only further proof that he was a bloody coward, like he didn’t know that already.

aka a Post-Dark Phoenix fic where Charles's plans to kill himself in Paris are interrupted by the appearance of Erik, but he ends up trying to go through with it anyway. Thanks to Erik, he does not succeed and finds new reasons to keep on living.

Summary
(Post-movie AU.) On a beach in Cuba, Charles manages to talk Erik down from the edge. But even after the missiles have been diverted, compromise is impossible. There are two different futures to build, and Erik and Charles will always be separated by their principles. But when Charles is kidnapped and the X-Men can't find him, Erik will get him back no matter the consequences.

Prompt:
I recently read a minifill wherein Charles died trying to give birth to a son and Erik never got there in time because when Charles wrote to him to tell him the news, Erik ignored all the letters.Could we have fill somewhat like that but Charles survives and Erik never knows having never read and thrown out almost all the letters. Then come years (up to the anon how old the child is) later, Erik finds out that he is the father and confronts Charles. Accusations fly until it spills out that since Erik never replied, Charles assumed Erik never wanted anything to do with them.
Summary: Max Xavier, 7 year old telepath and genius, attempts to make his Daddy feel better by bringing his Father and Aunt Raven home.
