    “ So careless.. “ Shadow Milk said almost expressionless, which was quite uncharacteristic of him. But he could only chuckle at his own uncharacteristic motions and words. He couldn’t care for someone who was just a holder of his power, the power that he deserved to have.

    “ So…silly. “ He mumbled to himself more than anything, moving closer as he was face to face with the sleeping Pure Vanilla. Their noses almost touching as he was floating above the bed, his ‘hair’ staying afloat to avoid waking up the other cookie.

    Being this close had its perks and he came to see how the other was so peaceful, so careless while asleep. As if they knew nobody would ever attack them in their sleep. It almost sickened him but he simply
    smiled at the act, though it took an almost indifferent change of breathing for Shadow Milk to say something more audibly.

    He watched as Leo threw his arms around Festus’ neck and gave him a big hug. And as the dragon gently headbutted Leo in the chest. And as he playfully blew fire onto Leo’s hair.

    A small part of Jason itched to be the one Leo did those things to (minus the fire part, as he did not particularly want to burn his hair off), or the one Leo went to for those things, but he quickly squashed it down. Leo loved Festus, and Jason loved whatever Leo did.

    “Who’s a good boy?” Leo giggled, and Jason had to suppress the urge to proclaim it was him who was the good boy.

    Mint is a man who has faced nothing but hardship up until this point but just when it was at its worst, he reads a letter that could change it all. Beginning a new life in Pelican town is a brand new kind of difficult, but at least it's fun right? And what's up with that weird guy who seems to hate everything except the saloon?

    This is a very indulgent fic that is more about just moving out to Stardew Valley than it is about the romance aspect at the start (hence the ultra slow burn, Shane is endgame but he is not even in the first two chapters oops) but we all need a little indulgence now and then :) also this is my first fic and idk how to write summaries lol
    Also also, I am not fully mute myself and don't know sign language, but have had to use the pen-and-paper method before during nonverbal times in my life. Please let me know if anything should be changed, I promise I'm not trying to be insensitive, just might be ignorant in some aspects! I am trans masc though so that part of the farmer will be based on my own experience.
