Summary
So, Eddie sits there and watches as everything he thought he knew about himself starts to catch fire and burn down to the ground, leaving in its destructive path three truths, one more life altering than the others.
One, Eddie will most likely spontaneously combust if he is forced to endure this torture for one more second
Two, Eddie wants to break every limb in Tommy's strong big arms that has now encircled Buck's waist and pulled him even tighter to his chest breathing him in.
And three, Eddie is distressed, downright devastated he doesn't get to have Buck the way Tommy does.

Summary
Buck, predictably, answers within two rings. “Yellow. You’ve got Buck.”
“Hey, Buck.”
“You okay?”
Eddie lifts his head to confirm the state of his house. The orange tree is still very much there, amidst the wreckage of his home. The sole perpetrator, even.
“Sure,” he says.
Buck hesitates. “...Sure?”
“There’s a tree.”
“Where?”
“Inside my house.”
“Oh.” Eddie can practically see Buck’s eyebrows furrowing. “Like, you bought a tree?”
“No,” Eddie says. He hasn’t blinked since Buck picked up the phone. “It’s the orange tree.”
A beat of silence. “It’s inside your house.”
Eddie lets out an exhausted huff, leaning back in his chair. “Apparently.”
OR: there’s an orange tree. It’s in Eddie’s house.

Bookmarker's Notes
"He’s gay, and Buck is the sun in his little solar system, and he’s going to die without telling him."
"Against his seat, Eddie wilts like spinach in a frying pan.
His house is a forest, and his bro is buying him carrot juice. His bro doesn’t even know he’s in love with him.
Fuck his stupid, gay, orange-filled life."

Summary
Surprise is born from the lack of foresight to anticipate the sharp turn. Buck takes a step back, knocking into the cabinets behind him. Eddie follows. The world doesn’t stop. It never does. Eddie learnt that lesson a long time ago.
The moment between Buck and Eddie in the kitchen breaks its shape.
